Reglazing Your Current Spectacles FAQs
What does “reglazing” mean?
Reglazing is when we fit new prescription lenses into your existing frames. It’s a cost-effective way to update your glasses if you already have a pair you love.
Can any frames be reglazed?
Most frames can be reglazed as long as they are in good condition (not cracked, brittle, or heavily worn). We’ll check your frames during your appointment and confirm whether they’re suitable.
Why would I choose reglazing instead of buying new frames?
- You already have a favourite pair you’re comfortable in.
- You want to update your prescription without changing your style.
- It can be more cost-effective than purchasing new frames.
What types of lenses can be used in reglazing?
We can fit the same wide range of lenses — single vision, varifocal, thinner lenses, and sunglass options (tints, transitions, polarised) — into most suitable frames.
How much does reglazing cost?
Lens prices are the same as when buying new frames:
- Single vision from £80
- Varifocals from £190
Enhancements such as thinner lenses, blue-light filters, or sun options can also be added.
How long does reglazing take?
Most reglazed orders are ready within 7–14 days, depending on the lens type.
What if my frames get damaged during reglazing?
While every care is taken, older or fragile frames may carry a small risk of damage. If we feel your frames are unsuitable, we’ll let you know in advance and suggest alternatives.
Can you reglaze sunglasses?
Yes — provided the frame is in good condition, we can fit prescription sun lenses (tints, transitions, or polarised).
